Real-Time Microbial Detection Devices.

Real-time microbial detection is an unmet need for both product development and quality control for consumer products, foods and beverages, and pharmaceuticals as well as diagnostics of home and personal hygiene/health.

Description of the need:

A device that can rapidly (ideally real-time) detect bacteria, yeasts, and molds in consumer products in less than 12 hours at an affordable cost at a sensitivity of <10 CFU/g.

What we are looking for:

  • Non-culture-based method

  • High sensitivity: <10 CFU/g

  • Nonfilterable samples such as face cream, toothpaste, shampoo etc.

  • High throughput > 100 samples per day per 1 set of devices.

  • Cost-effective: running cost of less than 10USD/sample

We are not interested in:

  • Culture-based method
